The distances, not rounded down
Frankfurt (Oder) 413 km, about 5 hours. Berlin 507 km, about 6 hours. Dresden 643 km, about 7.5 hours. Leipzig 664 km, about 7.5 hours. Hamburg 791 km, about 8.5 hours. Calculated with normal traffic and breaks, not with the pedal down. Rogowo is in Kujawy, 10 km from Rypin and 70 km from Torun.
How many nights it takes to be worth it
From Frankfurt (Oder) and Berlin, three nights up. From Dresden, Leipzig and Hamburg, a full week. We are not going to promise you a weekend when the drive is eight and a half hours each way. A night costs PLN 500 Sunday to Thursday and PLN 600 at the weekend, for 1 to 2 people, plus PLN 150 cleaning once per stay — the longer you stay, the less the drive weighs.
Not a German Ferienhaus with a wellness area
The hot tub and the Finnish sauna belong to your cabin alone, PLN 150 a day each, with no schedule and no time limit on a booked day. We light the tub for your arrival, after that you add the wood yourself, 38-40 degrees is comfortable; the 90 degree sauna we heat only if you ask in advance. The second cabin stands 250 metres away behind a wooden fence. There is no reception, no restaurant, no pool and no entertainment programme.
What is waiting at the other end
Water radiators in every room, fed from the boiler house outside, plus air conditioning and an electric fireplace. There is no underfloor heating.
Finnish sauna, 90 degrees, PLN 150 a day. We heat it for your arrival only if you ask us beforehand.
Breakfast PLN 60 and lunch PLN 60 per person per night, ordered before you arrive. There is no menu to choose from.
Two cabins on four hectares, 250 metres apart. Realistically you can only get here by car.

How long is the drive from Berlin to Rogowo?

Is it worth driving from Dresden or Leipzig?
From Dresden it is 643 km and about 7.5 hours, from Leipzig 664 km and also about 7.5 hours. For a weekend that is too far, and we will say so honestly. From a full week the numbers work: the drive spreads over seven nights, and Sunday to Thursday a night costs PLN 500 instead of PLN 600.
And from Hamburg?
791 km and about 8.5 hours each way. It is the furthest of the five cities and the only one where we advise against anything shorter than a week. Seventeen hours in the car for three nights does not add up.
What currency do you pay in?
Zloty. You pay the 25 percent deposit online through PayNow when you book, and the rest on arrival in cash or by card — card works without trouble. Free cancellation up to 7 days before arrival, and up to 14 days on special dates.
Do you speak German?
Yes, we speak German, as well as Polish and English. You write and call the owner directly, and the same person welcomes you on site.
Can we bring a dog from Germany?
Yes, and it costs nothing, cats too. Within the EU the animal needs an EU pet passport with a valid rabies vaccination and a microchip. Domek Na Uboczu has its own fence, 110 metres around, so that is the cabin we suggest for guests with a dog. Tell us when you book and a welcome set will be ready.
What does a night cost and what gets added?
PLN 500 Sunday to Thursday, PLN 600 at the weekend, for the cabin with 1 to 2 people. On top of that PLN 150 cleaning once per stay, third and fourth guest PLN 50 each per night, maximum 4 people per cabin. At the weekend the minimum is 2 nights; a single night is possible only Sunday to Thursday. Special dates such as Christmas, Easter or long weekends are priced higher and the rate is shown in the calendar for your chosen dates; New Year is PLN 800 a night with a 3 night minimum.

A night for two is 500 zł Sunday to Thursday and 600 zł at the weekend, with a minimum of 2 nights. Hot tub and Finnish sauna are 150 zł per day each, cleaning 150 zł once per stay.
Sunday to Thursday a single night is enough, and that is when it is quietest here.
