It is raining all day. What to do at the ranch when the weather lets you down
The full list of what works whatever the weather: the hot tub in the rain, the sauna, cinema under the covered shelter, board games. Plus an honest list of what is off.
The forecast shows rain for all three days of your stay. The question we get then is usually: should we move it.
The answer in most cases is no, and below is the list of things that explain why.
What works unchanged
The hot tub with jacuzzi. The water holds about 39 degrees regardless of what falls from above. You sit in hot water, cold rain lands on your head, and it is the same mechanism as the winter contrast, only gentler. Plenty of guests say the hot tub in the rain is better than the hot tub in sunshine, and it is hard to argue, because in the sun you end up looking for shade anyway.
The Finnish sauna. 90 degrees inside, the weather outside irrelevant. On top of that, in the rain the cool-down after stepping out is easier than in a heatwave.
The 4K outdoor cinema. The projector stands under the covered shelter, so a film in falling rain is entirely doable. The sound of rain on the roof is, frankly, a better soundtrack than most of what cinemas play.
The gas grill. The shelter has a roof, so grilling in the rain is a matter of moving a few metres, not giving up.
Board games. They are in every cabin, and this is the one day a year they really earn their keep.
Home-cooked food. Breakfast and dinner, 60 zł per person per night each, ordered in advance. On a rainy day it is the best-spent money of the whole stay, because the alternative is a dozen minutes' drive to the shop in a downpour.
Starlink. If the rain means you will not do anything outside anyway, this is the moment to catch up on a series or, worse, do some work.
The quiet. That is really the whole thing. You do not come here for the weather, but for the absence of obligations, and that works regardless of whether the sun is out.

That is seven items off a long list. The rest stays.
What a well-planned rainy day looks like
Morning. Do not get up. This is the one day nobody feels guilty about wasting the weather. Breakfast at a time you choose yourselves, because there is no fixed hour.
Before noon. The hot tub. Seriously, this is the best moment: nobody walking on the terrace, steam over the water, rain all around.
Afternoon. Sauna, then a nap. Or a board game. Or a book. This is the day when a plan is counterproductive.
Evening. Cinema under the shelter, a blanket, the grill if you feel like it. Rain on the shelter roof makes a better atmosphere than any decoration.
At night. Rain in the countryside sounds completely different from rain in the city, because there is no traffic underneath it. It is the best thing for falling asleep that I know.

Guests who call before arrival asking whether to move the date because of the forecast almost always keep their date, and almost always say afterwards they did well. The only situation where moving really makes sense is a trip planned around one specific outdoor thing, for example fishing or cycling. Then yes, move it.
Should you move the booking
Usually not, for three reasons.
First, a forecast a week out in Poland can be misleading, and "rain all day" often turns out to be two hours in the afternoon.
Second, most of what you come here for happens in hot water or under a roof.
Third, you need an alternative date to exist. We have two cabins, so moving from one weekend to another usually means waiting several weeks.
If, however, your trip was built entirely around one outdoor thing, for example fishing at Domek Marzeń or cycling, it is worth writing and looking for another date. Get in touch via the contact page; I reply by the end of the day at the latest.
What about children
This is the hardest variant of a rainy day and we will not pretend otherwise.
What works: the cinema under the shelter, board games, cooking together in the kitchenette, building anything under the roof. For older kids, Starlink means the internet is not an excuse.
And one thing parents often forget: rain usually does not bother children. It bothers adults. If you have a change of clothes and accept that everyone will be wet, an hour of running around the grounds in the rain is what the kids will remember from the whole trip.
What about the guarantee
We have a guarantee: if you are not happy with your stay and you tell us what was wrong, we refund 100 percent of the money.
The weather does not fit into it, and not because we are looking for a loophole, but because we have no influence over it and never promised it. The guarantee covers what depends on us: the state of the cabin, the hot tub, the food, how we welcomed you.

Is it worth moving a booking because of the forecast?
Usually not. A forecast a week out can be misleading, and most of what you come here for happens under a roof or in hot water.
What to do with children when it rains all day?
The cinema under the shelter, board games, cooking together in the kitchenette and, if the parents agree, simply running around in the rain. The trampoline in a downpour is off.
Are the grounds passable after heavier rain?
Yes, but it can be soft, because this is natural terrain, not a paved park. Bring shoes that can handle it.
