The complete guide: your first stay at Ranczo Rogowo

If this is your first stay at Ranczo Rogowo, this guide walks you through everything, from the moment you book to check-out, so you do not have to guess what to expect.

Before you book: how our pricing works

We moved away from an a la carte price list to a single nightly rate: 500 zł on weekdays (Sunday-Thursday) and 600 zł at the weekend (Friday-Sunday), identical for both cabins, for 1-2 people. Included: accommodation, cleaning, bathrobes and towels, bikes, two SUP boards, a 4K outdoor cinema with a projector and Netflix, board games, a gas grill, a bonfire spot, a covered shelter and Starlink. The hot tub with jacuzzi and the Finnish sauna are 150 zł per day each, booked for the days you choose. At Domek Marzeń you additionally get access to the fishing pond. The 3rd and 4th guest are +50 zł per person per night. The full breakdown is on the pricing page.

Charged separately are only: breakfast and dinner (60 zł per person per night each), the romantic setup (+150 zł per stay) and late check-out (+150 zł, on site only). There are no other "extras", the rest is already included.

How booking works, step by step

1. Check available dates in the booking widget and pick a cabin and the number of guests.
2. Pay a deposit of 25% of the stay online via PayNow.
3. Settle the rest on site, in cash or by card, on the day of arrival.
4. If you want to order breakfast, dinner or the romantic setup, mention it when booking or call ahead. We need time to prepare.

What to pack

The basics (bed linen, towels, a bathrobe, kitchen equipment) are already there, the full list is on the equipment page. It is still worth bringing:

• A swimsuit and flip-flops for the hot tub and sauna
• Comfortable shoes for walking and cycling (bikes are on site)
• A rain jacket, even in summer; weather in the countryside changes faster than in the city
• A head torch or a phone with a good torch for evening walks without street lighting
• If you plan to fish at Domek Marzeń, your own tackle box if you have favourite gear (a basic rod is included)

Getting here and checking in

Rogowo lies in the Kujawy region, about an hour's drive from Toruń. We send exact directions for the final stretch together with the booking confirmation; GPS navigation can be unreliable on country roads, so it is better to have directions in words, not just a pin on the map. Parking is right next to the cabin.

Your first night: what check-in looks like

We greet guests in person, no anonymous reception. We show you the cabin, explain how the hot tub and sauna work, and stay reachable by phone throughout your stay. It is a good moment to ask about anything this guide does not cover.

Your first day, hour by hour

To give you a concrete picture, this is how the first night usually goes for new guests:

• Afternoon (check-in): we show you the cabin, explain the hot tub, sauna and outdoor cinema, then leave you to yourselves.
• Early evening: unpacking, a first walk around the grounds, getting used to the quiet. It is normal for the first hours to feel a little alert before your brain switches over.
• Dinner: your own, or a home-cooked dinner ordered in advance. If you have not ordered a meal ahead, it is worth having your own supplies for the first evening.
• In the evening: the first dip in the hot tub, usually the most anticipated moment of the whole trip. The sauna is right there if you fancy a temperature contrast.
• Night: a silence some guests describe as "surprisingly loud", because suddenly you hear owls, wind in the trees, things you never hear in the city.

How many people fit and how children are counted

The maximum capacity is 4 people per cabin, and the charge for the 3rd and 4th guest (+50 zł per person per night) applies to every person counted as a full guest, regardless of age. If you are travelling with an infant sleeping in a travel cot, ask when booking; we handle such cases individually.

The romantic setup: how and when to order it

If you are planning something special (an anniversary, a proposal, a birthday), the romantic setup (+150 zł per stay) covers preparing the cabin for your arrival. It can be extended with fresh flowers and a printed photo of the two of you. The price of the extended version is set individually; best ask by phone in advance so we have time to get everything ready.

What if you forget something or run out

Rogowo is a small village; for extra shopping (food, cleaning supplies) you need to drive to the nearest town. If you forget something basic, ask us right at check-in; sometimes we can help on the spot before you organise a shopping trip.

The hot tub and sauna: using them with no hourly limit

This is the main attraction of most stays, so a few practical tips:

• The hot tub heats up to bathing temperature. The exact heating time depends on the season; faster in summer, a bit longer in winter.
• On a day you have booked them, you can use the hot tub and sauna at any time of day or night, as many times as you like. There is no hourly limit and no need to arrange a specific slot in advance.
• The Finnish sauna works independently of the hot tub; you can alternate between the two, which many guests do in the evenings.
• Each cabin has its own private hot tub and sauna. You do not share them with the guests of the other cabin.

Food: whether to order and when

Home-cooked breakfast and dinner (60 zł per person per night each) are an option, not an obligation, details on the food page. If you want meals, order them ideally when booking or at least a day ahead, to leave time for shopping and preparation. Report allergies and diets right away; we adjust the menu individually. Small gifts also wait on site at no charge: a homemade liqueur from my dad, orangeade from Ciechocinek and a set of coffee, tea, yerba mate and matcha.

What to do during the day, the full list, by weather

In good weather: bikes, the fishing pond at Domek Marzeń, SUP on the pond, the trampoline, volleyball, badminton, football, a walk to Lake Huta (10 minutes away). In worse weather: board games for the evening, the outdoor cinema under the covered shelter (it works whatever the weather), and in the evening the hot tub and sauna anyway, no matter what is happening outside.

In the evening: outdoor cinema, bonfire, board games

The 4K outdoor cinema with a multimedia projector and Netflix access is included in the stay, as is the bonfire spot. Evenings are usually the most intensively used part of the day. Hot tub, sauna, a film or a bonfire, sometimes all of them in turn.

Staying with a dog: practical tips

A dog always stays free, with a free welcome kit waiting in the cabin. There is plenty of room on the grounds to run off-leash; we only ask for common sense if other guests or their pets are around at the same time.

Staying with children: practical tips

The trampoline, bikes and open grounds give children space to play within sight of the terrace. Near the pond, as with any body of water, we ask for ordinary parental attention. We are happy to share more tips for small children and for teenagers; just ask.

Workation: organising a workday on site

If you are combining your stay with remote work, Starlink gives you a stable connection for video calls and large file transfers. A day rhythm our guests swear by: work in the morning hours, when it is quietest, then a break for the hot tub or a bike ride after 1 pm before returning to work in the afternoon (or not returning at all).

Fishing at Domek Marzeń: how to start

A rod is included in the stay, and the pond runs on one rule: caught fish go back into the water. The best time is early morning, when there is still mist and silence over the pond.

Check-out: what you need to do

Standard check-out is by 11 am. If you want to stay longer, late check-out (+150 zł) can only be arranged on site, during your stay, subject to availability. It cannot be booked in advance or online, so ask about it in person once you are here.

What if it rains all day

Rain does not block the main attractions; the hot tub and sauna work whatever the weather, and the outdoor cinema stands under a covered shelter. Board games in the evening and a comfortable common space in the cabin give you an alternative for a day when the bike or SUP is off the table. In our experience a rainy day at the ranch still ends up rated well, because the hot tub in the rain has a charm of its own.

The most common first-timer mistakes

The biggest: planning a schedule that is too tight for the first day instead of giving yourself time to wind down. Second: not ordering meals in advance, which means the first evening's dinner sometimes falls through. Third: no rain jacket, because "it does not rain in summer", except sometimes it does. Fourth: trying to book a single night at the weekend, which is not possible anyway; a weekend is always a minimum of 2 nights. Fifth: asking too late about renting the whole grounds for an event. If you are planning a hen party or a bigger get-together, let us know well in advance, because it means blocking both cabins at once.
