A long weekend in the countryside: how to plan the trip ahead

Long weekends vanish from the booking calendar fastest. How far ahead to book, how the deposit works and what to do when the date is gone.

A long weekend is the moment the booking calendar fills up fastest. If you are planning a trip for the May holiday, Corpus Christi, the November long weekend or Christmas, it pays to act earlier than usual. Below are concrete lead times, numbers, and what to do when it is already too late.

Why long weekends vanish fastest

It is obvious, but worth saying out loud, because it explains the scale of the problem. We have two cabins. Not twenty, not a hundred. When several million people in Poland are off work on the same four days, two cabins vanish within hours of a date opening, not within weeks.

That goes for every small place to stay, not just us. A big resort with fifty rooms has a buffer. We have none.

How far ahead to book

DateRecommended lead time
A regular weekend off season1-2 weeks
A regular weekend in season3-4 weeks
Summer holidays (July, August)6-8 weeks
A long weekend (May, November, Corpus Christi)2-3 months
New Year's Eve and Christmas3-4 months
Midweek (Sun-Thu)usually a few days are enough

The last row of this table is the most overlooked piece of information in the whole text. Midweek is cheaper (500 zł instead of 600 zł per night), calmer and almost always available. If your work gives you flexibility, the whole problem of booking long weekends simply does not apply to you.

The calendar of long weekends worth watching

The dates that fill up first every year:

  • The May holiday (1-3 May). The most sought-after date of the year, with nice weather and the first greenery on top. Booking 3 months ahead is not an exaggeration.
  • Corpus Christi (a Thursday, so a Friday off is easy to add). Shorter, but just as popular.
  • The November long weekend (1 and 11 November). Surprisingly popular, because it is the last moment before winter and perfect hot tub weather.
  • New Year's Eve and the days around it. Usually booked earliest of all.
  • Christmas. Less demand than New Year's Eve, but very determined.
  • Valentine's Day, if it falls near a weekend.

What to do if you need a date right now

Not all is lost. Four things that actually work:

Check the calendar anyway. Bookings do get cancelled, especially 2-3 weeks before the date. It is worth looking instead of assuming it is taken.

Sign up for the newsletter. Last-minute openings go out there first, before they appear anywhere else. This is exactly the situation the newsletter is for.

Shift by a week. The week after the May holiday has the regular weekend price, the same weather and much better availability, and the area is noticeably quieter.

Consider midweek instead of a long weekend. Three nights from Sunday to Wednesday cost 1500 zł instead of 1800 zł for three weekend nights, are easier to get and give more quiet.

Rada od Filipa

If your flexibility allows it, consider shifting the trip a week away from the long weekend itself. The price and availability are those of a regular weekend, and the area is noticeably quieter than at peak season. I say this against my own interest, because on a long weekend we are full anyway, but the stays a week later are simply better.

How the booking process works

The whole process takes a few minutes through our booking calendar.

  1. You pick the date and cabin in the booking calendar.
  2. You enter the number of people. Up to 2 people in the base price, the 3rd and 4th person cost an extra 50 zł per person per night.
  3. You tick any meals (60 zł per person per night for breakfast, the same for dinner) and extras.
  4. You pay the 25% deposit online via PayNow.
  5. The rest is settled on site.

No middlemen and no external platform commissions. We guarantee the lowest price on our own website, so booking directly always comes out cheaper than the same date through Booking or Airbnb.

If you have a question before booking, write via the contact page. I reply by the end of the day at the latest.

What a long weekend costs

The base is the regular weekend rate. On public holidays and long weekends prices can be higher, and the final price is always visible in the calendar before you confirm the booking. Example amounts at the standard weekend rate:

OptionPrice
2 nights, 2 people1200 zł
3 nights, 2 people1800 zł
3 nights, 4 people2100 zł
3 nights, 2 people, with full board2520 zł

The rate already includes the night, cleaning, bathrobes and towels, bikes, two SUP boards, a 4K outdoor cinema with projector and Netflix, board games, a gas grill, a bonfire spot, the roofed shelter and Starlink. The wood-fired hot tub with jacuzzi and the Finnish sauna are 150 zł per day each, added for the days you choose.

How many nights to take on a long weekend

Two nights are the weekend minimum and enough to rest, but the last day always carries a bit of hurry in it.

Three nights are the optimum. The first day to slow down, the second for what you came for, the third for a calm departure. Most guests who come for two nights say at check-out that they should have taken three.

Four nights and more make sense if you plan to combine the rest with a trip to Toruń or remote work. We have Starlink, so adding one working day to a long weekend is entirely realistic.

If you are coming as a bigger group

The two cabins hold 8 people in total (4+4). Group trips mean renting the whole grounds, both cabins at once, plus the roofed shelter for about 20 people is available.

Such bookings cannot be done properly through the calendar, so write to us directly. Details and rules are on the events page. For long weekends it is worth getting in touch even earlier than for a regular booking, because settling the details takes time too.

Najczęstsze pytania

How far ahead should I book a long weekend?

At least 3 to 4 weeks ahead, and for the May holiday, Corpus Christi and the November long weekend even 2 to 3 months ahead, because those dates vanish from the calendar fastest.

Is there a different rate on a long weekend?

The base is the weekend rate, 600 zł per night for 1 to 2 people, but on public holidays and long weekends prices can be higher. The final price is always visible before you book.

What if I do not manage to book ahead?

Always check the calendar anyway, because dates sometimes free up after cancellations. Off season and midweek, availability is usually much better.

How big is the deposit and when is it paid?

25% of the stay's value, paid online via PayNow when booking. The rest is settled on site.

Will I pay less booking directly than through Booking or Airbnb?

Yes, we guarantee the lowest price on our own website. A direct booking means no middleman platform commission.

Can both cabins be booked for a long weekend for a bigger group?

Yes, group trips mean renting the whole grounds, both cabins at once. That has to be arranged individually, so write to us instead of booking through the calendar.

Is the minimum stay on a long weekend longer than 2 nights?

The standard rule is a minimum of 2 nights on any weekend. For a specific date check the calendar, because availability often forces a longer stay anyway if the neighbouring nights are taken.
