A romantic weekend near Toruń: an idea for an anniversary, a birthday, or no occasion at all
You do not need an occasion to book a weekend for two. What makes up a romantic trip, what it really costs, when to go and who it will not suit.
Not every romantic trip needs a big occasion. Sometimes the idea itself is enough to book two nights just for yourselves, without children, obligations and the phone constantly in hand. Below, concretely, what such a weekend consists of, what it costs and when to plan it.
What makes a romantic weekend actually romantic
Not staged decorations from a catalogue. Three things, in this order.
Privacy. Domek Marzeń and Domek Na Uboczu are separated by 250 metres and a wooden panel fence. There is no shared entrance, no shared terrace, no shared kitchen. Guests of one cabin do not see or hear the guests of the other. Which means the hot tub at 11 pm does not require checking whether anyone is watching, and a conversation on the terrace is not held in a half-whisper.
No time limit. The hot tub with jacuzzi and the Finnish sauna belong to your cabin alone. There are no hourly slots, no surcharge for another hour, no signing up anywhere. You can get into the water at 2 pm and come back at 11 pm the same day, and the only thing limiting you is your own stamina.
No plan. It sounds like the absence of an offer, but it is the offer. A bonfire or a board game in the evening, unhurried coffee on the terrace in the morning, a bike, a SUP or nothing during the day. The couples who come back to us most often rarely plan anything beyond the arrival itself.
The romantic setup, if you want an extra gesture
For an extra 150 zł per stay we prepare fresh flowers and a printed photo of the two of you, waiting in the cabin on your arrival. It is not a VIP package with an inflated price, just a simple, pretty extra for couples who want to mark a specific occasion.
Two practical notes. First, the flowers have to be fresh, so let us know in advance, not on arrival day. Second, if you want the shared photo, send it with the booking so it has time to be printed.
On top of that, regardless of the setup, a homemade liqueur from my dad, orangeade from Ciechocinek and a set of coffee, tea, yerba mate and matcha wait in the cabin. Small gifts from the hosts, not a line in the price list.
What such a weekend really costs
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Weekend, 2 nights, 2 people | 1200 zł |
| Breakfast, 2 people × 2 nights | 240 zł |
| Dinner, 2 people × 2 nights | 240 zł |
| Romantic setup | 150 zł |
| Total | 1830 zł |
The nightly rate already includes: accommodation, cleaning, bathrobes and towels, bikes, two SUP boards, the outdoor cinema with a projector, board games, the grill and the bonfire spot. The hot tub with jacuzzi and the Finnish sauna you add for chosen days, 150 zł per day each, and on that day you use them with no hourly limit.
If the budget is tighter, the simplest saving is skipping one of the meals (the kitchenette is fully equipped) or moving the trip to midweek, where a night costs 500 zł instead of 600 zł.
Weekend or midweek
This question comes back with almost every couple's booking, so let us lay it out honestly.
Midweek (Sunday-Thursday) gives a lower rate (500 zł instead of 600 zł per night), better availability and genuinely more quiet, because the second cabin often stands empty. It is also the only variant in which you can come for a single night, if you have no more time off. The downside: you have to take a day off work.
The weekend (Friday-Sunday) requires no leave, and that is its main advantage. Always a minimum of 2 nights, at 600 zł per night. The privacy between the cabins works exactly the same, because it comes from the layout of the grounds, not from occupancy.
If you can choose, I recommend midweek. If you cannot, the weekend is not a compromise, just a more expensive version of the same thing.
Rada od Filipa
The question I get most often is whether you need an anniversary or a birthday to book the romantic setup. You do not. Some couples come simply because they need time just for themselves, with no special date in the calendar. Honestly, those are usually the stays after which I hear the best summaries.
A sample two nights
Friday. Arrival in the afternoon, the hot tub already heated if you told us what time you would be here. Sauna in the evening, then a bonfire or the cinema under the shelter. Nobody counts the hours.
Saturday. Breakfast when you get up, not when a buffet schedule dictates. During the day a bike ride around the area, SUP on the pond or a trip to Lake Huta (10 minutes' drive). A second round in the hot tub in the afternoon. Dinner in the evening and the same as the day before, only unhurried, because now you know how it works.
Sunday. Breakfast, a last coffee on the terrace, check-out. If no new guests arrive that day, late check-out for 150 zł can be arranged, but exclusively on site, because we do not know in advance whether it will be possible.
The best time of year
There is no bad season, but they differ.
Winter is our most underrated period. The hot tub in freezing weather and a sauna heated to 90 degrees give a contrast that summer simply does not have. On top of that it gets dark early, which for a weekend for two works in your favour, not against you.
Spring and autumn are the best ratio of quiet to weather. The area is empty, the temperature enough for a bike ride and a bonfire.
Summer gives the longest evenings and SUPs on the pond, but it is also the busiest period, so dates need booking earlier.
Who it will not suit
If a romantic weekend means to you dinner at a fine restaurant, a spa with a full treatment menu and an evening out, this is not the place for you. We have no restaurant, no masseuse, no reception and no 24h staff. Toruń is an hour away, so an evening out means two hours in the car.
What we have is quiet, privacy and time. If after the weekend you want the feeling that you experienced something and went somewhere, it may be too calm. If you want the feeling that you finally rested, it is exactly right.
If you are planning a gift, not your own trip
See the gift voucher page. You can give a specific date or any amount for the couple to use, with delivery to an InPost parcel locker or a given address. More about choosing the right variant in the article on who a voucher works for.
What next
Check the pricing with the stay calculator or go straight to available dates. If you want to add the romantic setup, tick it in the booking notes.
Najczęstsze pytania
What does the romantic setup include?
Fresh flowers and a printed photo of the two of you waiting in the cabin on arrival, for an extra 150 zł per stay. Nothing staged, just a nice welcome gesture.
Do we need a specific occasion to book it?
No. An anniversary, a birthday, or no occasion at all; it works equally well. Some couples book simply because they need a reset for two.
How much does a romantic weekend for two cost?
600 zł per night at the weekend, minimum 2 nights, so 1200 zł. With full board and the romantic setup it comes to about 1830 zł for the whole weekend.
Can it be given as a gift?
Yes, see the voucher page. You can give a specific date or any amount to be used later.
Can we come for one night?
Yes, but only Sunday to Thursday. The weekend is always a minimum of 2 nights.
How far ahead should we order the romantic setup?
Just tick it in the booking notes or write to us. The flowers have to be fresh, so the earlier we know, the better. The day before arrival is the absolute minimum.
Can late check-out be booked in advance?
No. Late check-out (150 zł) is arranged exclusively on site, because it depends on whether new guests arrive that day.
