New Year's Eve and Christmas in the countryside: the quiet option instead of a banquet hall
New Year's Eve without a hall, corkage or a taxi at four in the morning. What the turn of the year looks like in a cabin with a hot tub, the minimum stay, and when to book.
New Year's Eve in Poland usually looks the same: a hall, a ticket per couple, corkage, a menu decided for you, music louder than conversation and a taxi at four in the morning. For some people that is exactly the night they wait for all year. For the rest it is the most expensive evening of the year spent in the cloakroom queue.
This text is for the second group.
What a quiet New Year's Eve looks like
Two cabins on the whole grounds, 250 metres apart, separated by a wooden panel fence. The hot tub with jacuzzi and the Finnish sauna belong exclusively to your cabin, with no time limit and no reserving an hour.
At midnight you are either in the hot tub, or by the bonfire, or on the terrace with a glass. There is no DJ, no party games, no neighbour from the next table. It is cold, quiet, and you can see stars that do not exist in the city.
In the morning nobody wakes you and you do not have to get back anywhere.
What it costs
We do not raise prices because New Year's Eve landed in the calendar. That surprises some guests used to hotel New Year's rates.

The rate includes cleaning, the 4K outdoor cinema, board games and bathrobes. For comparison: a ticket to a typical New Year's Eve in a hall for a couple is usually several hundred zloty for one evening, without accommodation.
The minimum length of stay depends on the day of the week 31 December falls on. If it touches the weekend, the minimum is 2 nights.
How many nights to take
Realistically three, regardless of what the minimum is.
The turn of the year has this property that 1 January is a lost day for everyone. If you took two nights with departure on 1 January, you check out at 11 am on the day you would most like to do nothing.
Three nights mean you spend 1 January on site: breakfast at two in the afternoon, the hot tub in the afternoon, an evening with no one else's plans. You go back only on 2 January.

If you have to choose between a better dinner and one night more, take the night. The New Year's morning spent here is what guests remember, not what was on the plate the evening before.
Food
We do not do a banquet and we have no menu card. We cook home-style, seasonally, from local produce, and we agree the menu individually before arrival. Dinner is 60 zł per person per night, breakfast the same.
Important: you have to order in advance. We shop for specific bookings, so an order placed on arrival day is a few days too late. Over New Year's this matters especially, because the shops in the area work shorter hours then.
If you prefer to cook yourselves, the kitchenette is fully equipped and the gas grill stands outside. Just do the bigger shop on the way, because although the Dino is three minutes away, 31 December is not necessarily the moment to discover its opening hours.
A homemade liqueur from my dad, orangeade from Ciechocinek and a set of coffee, tea, yerba mate and matcha also wait in the cabin. A gift from the hosts, not a line in the price list.
About fireworks
We ask you to skip them, and we will say why instead of simply banning them.
We are in a village, near farm animals and wild ones. On top of that, dogs stay free here and plenty of them come, so the chance that a dog is sleeping in the other cabin is real. For a dog, fireworks are not an attraction, they are several hours of panic.
The silence at midnight is, after all, what you come here for. Hard to have it and shoot it apart at the same time.
Christmas
That is a separate category and a different kind of guest. New Year's Eve is booked by couples wanting to escape the party. Christmas is booked by those who want to escape cooking for twelve and the questions at the table.
It works well, because Christmas here has no script. There is no Christmas Eve dinner with a programme and no midnight mass organised by the host. There is a cabin, quiet, and whatever you bring or order yourselves.
Demand for Christmas is smaller than for New Year's Eve, so availability can be better, but we are still talking about two cabins.
When to book
New Year's Eve vanishes from the calendar first of all the dates in the year. Three to four months ahead is a sensible margin, and with two cabins it is no exaggeration.
If you are reading this in December and looking for a date right now: check the calendar anyway, because bookings do get cancelled.

Who this will not be a good idea for
If New Year's Eve means dancing until morning, a crowd and partying until dawn, you will be bored. There is no music here, no people and nothing to tick off.
