Public holidays and long weekends 2026 and 2027: when they fall and how much leave you need

One day of leave, Wednesday 23 December 2026, gives you five days off in a row. Christmas Eve has been a public holiday in Poland since 2025, 25 December falls on a Friday, and the weekend follows straight after. There is no better exchange rate anywhere between now and the end of 2027.

All the dates below are Polish public holidays and Polish school holidays, so the leave arithmetic works if you take your days off from a Polish employer.

Below are two tables: days off from today to the end of 2026 and every public holiday in 2027, each time with the number of leave days and the number of days off that come out of it. Then five strongest combinations written out by date, the school winter holiday slots by region, and a note on which of these dates cost more here.

Public holidays from today to the end of 2026

November 2026 gives no classic long weekend, because All Saints' Day falls on a Sunday and a holiday on a Sunday earns no day in lieu. The two November options, the one with 2 November and the one with 11 November, are counted separately in the table above.

31 December is a working day and is not in the table, but it is the cheapest leave of the year: one day, four days off. Everything about that stay is on the New Year's Eve page, including the price.

Public holidays in 2027

Five of the holidays in that table fall on a Saturday or a Sunday: Easter Sunday on 28 March, 1 May, 15 August and 25 and 26 December. That is why 2027 looks weaker than the turn of 2026 and 2027, and why most of the good combinations sit in the first half of the year. Saturday and Sunday are not the same thing here, though: for a holiday falling on a Saturday a Polish employer has to give a separate day off, for a holiday on a Sunday it does not. We do not put that day in lieu into the "days off" column, because it makes no unbroken run and the employer picks the date.

The turn of 2026/2027: four days of leave, eleven days off

Four days of leave, from Monday 28 to Thursday 31 December, give eleven days off in a row. The arithmetic: 24 December Thursday, a public holiday, 25 December Friday off, 26 and 27 December the weekend, then four days of leave, 1 January Friday a public holiday, 2 and 3 January the weekend. From 24 December to 3 January inclusive that is eleven days.

Three cheaper versions of the same period:

• Wednesday 23 December, one day of leave, five days off (23 - 27 Dec);
• Monday 21, Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 December, three days of leave, seven days off (21 - 27 Dec);
• Thursday 31 December, one day of leave, four days off (31 Dec - 3 Jan).

New Year's Eve is the only date here with a special rate given in advance: 800 zł per night with a minimum of three nights. Everything about that stay is collected on the New Year's Eve page.

The May holiday 2027: three days for nothing, nine for four

Three days off with no leave: Saturday 1 May (Labour Day), Sunday 2 May and Monday 3 May as a public holiday. Labour Day lands on a Saturday, so it adds nothing beyond the weekend, and the whole effect comes from the Monday.

Four days of leave, from Tuesday 4 to Friday 7 May, stretch that to nine days: from Saturday 1 May to Sunday 9 May. If you would rather add a day at the front, take Friday 30 April and you have four days off, from 30 April to 3 May.

Corpus Christi 2027: one day of leave, four days off

One day of leave, Friday 28 May, gives four days off: Thursday 27 May (Corpus Christi), Friday 28, Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 May. Nothing else to count, it is the simplest combination in the whole of 2027.

For a stay starting on a Thursday, the Thursday night is cheaper here than a weekend one, but Corpus Christi belongs to the dates priced higher, so check the amount for your exact dates in the calendar.

November 2027: two holidays, two separate trips

The two November holidays in 2027 do not join into one run: 1 November falls on a Monday, 11 November on a Thursday, and there are seven working days between them. That makes two separate dates.

The first: 30 and 31 October are the weekend, 1 November is a public holiday on the Monday, so three days with no leave. Add four days of leave, from 2 to 5 November, and you get nine days off, from 30 October to 7 November.

The second: 11 November Thursday, Friday 12 November as the only day of leave, then the weekend. Four days off, from 11 to 14 November.

Christmas 2027: the weakest combination in the table

Zero days of leave gives only three days off at Christmas 2027, from Friday 24 to Sunday 26 December. Two of the three holidays fall at the weekend, so the calendar adds nothing of its own.

One day of leave, Thursday 23 December, gives four days (23 - 26 Dec). Two days of leave, Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 December, give five days (22 - 26 Dec). Every further day of leave after 26 December adds only one day off, because 27 December is an ordinary Monday.

School winter holidays 2026/2027 and the Christmas school break

The Polish school winter holidays in 2027 run in three two-week slots, according to the Ministry of Education announcement:

The Christmas school break runs from 23 to 31 December 2026, which overlaps exactly with the best leave combination of that year. If you are travelling with children, school is out from 23 December anyway.

We are in kujawsko-pomorskie, so the local school holidays are 15 - 28 February. The other two slots tend to be quieter here, and February is the best month for the hot tub: the gap between the frost outside and the water in the tub is at its widest, we wrote about that separately.

Which of these dates cost more here

New Year's Eve, Christmas, Easter, the May holiday and long weekends are priced higher here than ordinary nights. The school winter holidays and All Saints are ordinary dates here: a night costs 500 zł from Sunday to Thursday and 600 zł at the weekend. For the dearer dates we will not guess on the calendar's behalf what they come to, and we say so plainly to keep your sums free of surprises: the price for your chosen dates shows in the calendar when you book.

Special dates also carry a minimum stay: three nights at Christmas, New Year, Easter, the May weekend and Corpus Christi, four nights on the November long weekend. On ordinary dates the minimum is two nights at the weekend and one night from Sunday to Thursday.

One special rate is given in advance: New Year's Eve at 800 zł per night with a minimum of three nights. For the other holiday dates we do not quote a single amount per night, because it depends on the dates.

The extras do not change all year. Cleaning 150 zł once per stay, hot tub with jacuzzi 150 zł per day, Finnish sauna 150 zł per day, with no hour limit on the day you book. The third and fourth person 50 zł each per night, four people maximum per cabin.

On special dates, free cancellation runs until 14 days before arrival rather than 7 days as for the rest of the year. That covers all the special dates listed at the start of this section. What it costs outside special dates

A night from Sunday to Thursday costs 500 zł, a weekend night 600 zł, for the whole cabin for 1-2 people. The weekend means a minimum of two nights; a single night is possible only from Sunday to Thursday. A night starts at 3 pm and ends at 11 am.

One practical thing follows from the tables above: several of the good combinations start on a Thursday. Outside special dates a Thursday night counts at 500 zł, so a stay starting on Thursday works out cheaper than one starting on Friday. On holiday dates and long weekends do not carry that rate across directly — there the number comes from the calendar.
