Polish school winter holidays 2027: the slots by region and an idea for a week in a cabin with a hot tub

The Polish school winter holidays in 2027 are split into three two-week slots: 18-31 January, 1-14 February and 15-28 February. The split is announced by the Ministry of Education, so that is the source worth going back to, not a forum or a Facebook group. Kujawsko-pomorskie, where we are, has its holidays from 15 to 28 February 2027.

Every slot starts on a Monday and ends on a Sunday, so it gives two full weeks and three weekends to spread around. Separately, before the winter holidays, comes the Christmas school break: 23-31 December 2026.

For parents from two different regions this has a practical effect: if you live in Mazovia, your holidays end exactly when our local ones begin. Warsaw is about 180 km from us, about 2.5 hours by car.

Why Sunday to Thursday rather than the weekend

A night from Sunday to Thursday costs 500 zł, a weekend one 600 zł, and that is the whole difference on the price side. During the school holidays children do not go to school on Monday, so the reason most people travel at the weekend disappears for two weeks.

Four nights from Sunday to Thursday is the shape we recommend most often: arrival on Sunday after 3 pm, departure by 11 am on Thursday. Three full days here and two days for the drive. In the kujawsko-pomorskie slot that means, for example, Sunday 21 February to Thursday 25 February 2027, arriving on the last day of the first holiday week and taking the whole start of the second.

A single night is possible here only from Sunday to Thursday. At the weekend the minimum is two nights. The difference between one night and two is written out in a separate post.

Counted to the last zloty: a family of 2+2, four nights

The table below uses the ordinary Sunday-to-Thursday rate: 500 zł per night for the cabin for 1-2 people, plus 50 zł per night for each further person. Two children count as the third and fourth person, so two supplements.

2550 zł for four nights is 637.50 zł per night for all four of you, or 159.38 zł per person per night. Cleaning is charged once per stay, not per night, so on a longer stay it spreads across more days.

The hot tub and sauna are charged for the day you choose, not by the hour. On a day you have booked you get in whenever you like, with no limit and no signing up.

The hot tub on two of the four days works out simplest like this: the first evening after the drive and the last one before departure, with a day in the middle without heating the water. Booking the hot tub for all four nights is 600 zł instead of 300 zł and makes sense if you really plan to get in every day.

Food is separate, if you order it: breakfast 60 zł per person per night, lunch the same, meaning soup, a main course, dessert and a fruit drink. It has to be ordered before arrival, because we shop for specific bookings, and there is no menu card to choose from. In the evening you can also arrange home-made snacks with us: pizza, baked baguettes, burgers or fries, all made here, nothing reheated or out of a packet, with the details and the price settled on the spot.

One thing you will not read out of this table: the accommodation price for your exact dates shows in the calendar when you book. Holiday dates and long weekends are priced higher than ordinary ones. The extras from the table, meaning cleaning, hot tub, sauna and the extra person, are the same all year. So we will not guess what February 2027 comes to - you check that in the booking calendar for the day you pick.

What children really do here in winter

The hot tub in a frost works on children harder than it does in summer. The water sits at 38-40 degrees, a wood-fired stove heats it, so you set how hot it should be, and the steam over the surface with a minus temperature outside is an attraction in itself. The Finnish sauna runs at 90 degrees and is dry. With children the rounds are shorter than for adults and you have to watch the cooling down - the practical rules are collected in our guide to a first sauna.

The cinema under the shelter works all year, because the screen and projector stand under a roof. In February it gets dark before six, so a film can start right after you have eaten. Inside there are also board games and an electric fireplace in the living room.

The trampoline stands on the grounds all year, but in winter it is a conditional attraction: after rain and in hoar frost the mat is slippery and then it is out. In a frost on a dry day it is fine.

The warmth in the cabin asks nothing of you. Every room has water radiators fed from a boiler house outside, so there is no stove to operate and no wood to feed indoors. There is also air conditioning and an electric fireplace. The cabin is 25 m²: a separate bedroom, a living room and a bathroom with a shower. On the 12 m² terrace there is a hanging cocoon to rock in and a coffee table with chairs, and they get used in winter too, just for shorter.

What we do not have during the school holidays

There is no ski slope and no lift. No pool, no entertainer and no supervised activities for children, no reception desk and no restaurant. The winter offer is, in practice, one cabin to yourselves, hot water, a sauna and grounds the children run around on their own, within sight.

There are two cabins, so at any one time there are at most two bookings here. They stand 250 metres apart, behind a wooden panel fence.

With a dog or a small child, choose Domek Na Uboczu: it is the only one with its own fence. The grounds as a whole are not fenced, and at Domek Marzeń we ask you to keep an eye on your animal. How long the drive takes

In winter add a margin for the drive and arrive at 3 pm rather than after dark. The full distance table, departure times and a description of the last stretch are collected in a separate post about getting here.

Before you book

Booking means a 25 percent deposit paid online, the rest on site. The school holidays are an ordinary date, so free cancellation runs until 7 days before arrival, as through most of the year; the 14 days apply to special dates only. The deposit and date-change rules are described separately.
