Christmas 2026 in a cabin: 24-27 December without a single day of leave

24 December 2026 falls on a Thursday, and since 2025 Christmas Eve has been a public holiday in Poland. After it come Friday 25 December, Saturday 26 December and Sunday 27 December. Four days off in a row, zero days of leave.

Three nights in the cabin, from 24 to 27 December, fit inside that run to the hour: you check in on Christmas Eve at 3 pm, you leave by 11 am on Sunday, and you are back at work on Monday 28 December.

What exactly falls where this Christmas

Christmas Eve attaches to the two holidays and to the Sunday with no gap in the middle, so there is not a single working day here that leave would have to cover. For comparison, in 2025 Christmas Eve fell on a Wednesday and the same zero leave gave five days, from 24 to 28 December. 2026 gives one day less, but 26 December falls on a Saturday, and for a holiday on a Saturday a Polish employer has to give a separate day off at another time.

If you have children at school, the Polish Christmas school break runs from 23 to 31 December 2026, so nobody is missing lessons on these dates.

Three nights with no leave request

Arrival on Thursday 24 December after 3 pm, departure on Sunday 27 December by 11 am. Of those four days, Christmas Eve is in practice the drive and the evening, Sunday is breakfast and packing, and the two full days here fall on 25 and 26 December.

From Toruń the drive takes about 60 minutes, from Włocławek an hour, from Bydgoszcz 2 hours, from Warsaw and Łódź about 2.5 hours each. Setting off on Christmas Eve before noon, you are here as the night opens and you make it before dark.

The shorter version holds up too: a single night is possible here from Sunday to Thursday, so 27 December (a Sunday) can be taken as one night, for example. At the weekend the minimum is two nights.

What it costs

The accommodation price for your chosen dates shows in the calendar when you book, and that is the only binding answer. Holiday dates and long weekends are priced higher than ordinary ones, so the ordinary-week rate from the price list does not carry directly across to 24-27 December.

The extras, on the other hand, do not change all year, and you can count these amounts straight away:

On a 24-27 December stay with the hot tub and sauna on every day, the extras alone come to 1050 zł on top of the accommodation. You can also take the hot tub and sauna for one or two chosen days and then pay only for those. On a day you have booked you use them at any hour, with no time limit and without signing up for a particular slot.

Booking means a 25 percent deposit online, the rest settled on site. The rates for ordinary dates are in the pricing.

What we do not have at Christmas

We say this plainly so nobody arrives expecting something they will not get:

• there is no Christmas Eve dinner with a programme, no twelve dishes served to everyone at the same hour and no shared table with strangers,
• there is no trip to midnight mass organised by the host,
• there is no entertainment for children, no competitions and no visit from Santa,
• there is no reception desk, no restaurant, no pool and no ski slope.

What there is instead is home-cooked lunch to order in advance, 60 zł per person per night: soup, a main course, dessert and a fruit drink. My mum cooks home-style and we agree the menu before arrival, with no menu card, because we shop for specific bookings. Breakfast costs the same. In the evening you can also arrange home-made snacks with us: pizza, baked baguettes, burgers or fries, all made here, nothing reheated or out of a packet, with the details and the price settled on the spot. And there is a quiet village. On 25 December nothing happens in the area, and that is the whole idea of this stay.

Practical things that are easy to forget

Do your shopping by 23 December at the latest. On Christmas Eve, a public holiday in Poland since 2025, the shops in the area are closed or work shorter hours, and on 25 December practically nothing is open, so do not assume you can pick anything up on the way. The nearest bigger shops are in Rypin, 10 km and 10 minutes from us, and it is worth checking their hours for those days before you leave. The kitchenette in the cabin is fully equipped, so cooking here is a real option, but only with the shopping done in advance.

The hot tub is heated for your arrival, and on arrival day you get a text with instructions. A wood-fired stove heats it, so you set the temperature yourself: it is most comfortable at 38-40 degrees. The Finnish sauna holds 90 degrees. In winter the hot tub works better than in summer and we have already written why.

The cabin is warm without your involvement. Water radiators stand in every room, fed from a boiler house outside, so there is nothing to watch over or feed. Plus air conditioning and an electric fireplace in the living room. The cabin is 25 m²: a separate bedroom, a living room and a bathroom with a shower. On the 12 m² terrace there is a hanging cocoon to rock in and a coffee table with chairs.

Dogs and cats stay free, with a welcome set. With a dog and with a small child we suggest Domek Na Uboczu, because it is the only one with its own fence. The grounds as a whole are not fenced, and at Domek Marzeń we ask you to keep an eye on your animal. The differences between the cabins are written out separately.

How late you can change your mind

Christmas is one of our special dates, along with New Year's Eve, Easter, the May weekend, Corpus Christi and long weekends. One difference from the rest of the year follows from that: free cancellation runs until 14 days before arrival instead of the standard 7.
